READY! for Kindergarten

READY! for Kindergarten is the premier school readiness program offered by The Children's Reading Foundation, tailored for children aged 2 to 5, as well as older children who may need to catch up on essential skills. This innovative program is designed to prepare your child for future learning and success in school through engaging and interactive gameplay.

The READY! for Kindergarten app features a variety of games, each focusing on developing a specific core skill. These games are crafted to be played repeatedly, as young children thrive with numerous repetitions in a nurturing and supportive environment. For detailed insights into the skills each game targets, simply touch the "i" icon located in the lower right corner of each game icon.

As your child interacts with the games, the app diligently tracks their progress and sends this data to the reports section. This feature allows you to monitor your child's development in various skill areas. The reports compare your child's achievements with those of other children of similar age across the U.S., helping you identify and focus on areas where your child might need additional support.

For children aged 2 to 5, the app's games are designed to teach crucial skills such as singing the ABC song, matching letter shapes, recognizing letter sounds, expanding vocabulary, counting to 30, and identifying emotions.

The foundation of the READY! program consists of 26 Age-Level Targets, which are measurable skills that a typical 5-year-old should master before starting kindergarten. These targets are based on extensive research and were developed over seven years by early learning experts, in collaboration with families, scientists, and educators.

READY! for Kindergarten was honored with a Top 100 Award by District Administration Magazine in 2013, recognizing its excellence in educational programming.
