Rummy 500 (also known as Persian Rummy, Pinochle Rummy, 500 Rum, 500 Rummy) is a popular Rummy game similar to straight Rummy, but with a key difference: players can draw more than just the upcard from the discard pile. In most commonly played Rummy 500 rules, points are awarded for melded cards, while points are deducted for unmelded cards (deadwood) remaining in a player's hand at the end of a round.

Game Rules:

• Played with 2-4 players.
• Uses one deck with jokers.
• Each player receives 7 cards.
• The objective is to be the first player to reach 500 points. If multiple players reach 500, the highest-scoring player wins.
• Players must form sets (three or four cards of the same rank) and sequences (three or more cards of the same suit in order). Scoring is based on the card values in these sets and sequences.
• A turn consists of drawing a card, then discarding a card.
• Players can also meld (lay down sets and sequences) or add to existing melds during their turn. This is called building.
• Jokers are wild cards and can represent any card.
• When taking cards from the discard pile, the last discarded card must be used immediately in a meld.
• Face cards are worth 10 points each. An Ace is worth 11 points in a meld, but incurs a 15-point penalty if held at the end of a round. A Joker takes the value of the card it replaces and adds a 15-point penalty if held.
• The game is played in a series of rounds, with scores accumulating until a player reaches or exceeds 500 points.
• Ties result in a playoff to determine the winner.
