Playable 'Like a Dragon' Demo Pirates the Web

A free demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's spin-off, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, launches today! Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK.

RGG Studio made the announcement via X/Twitter. The full game releases February 21st, also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but these platforms won't receive the demo.

While RGG Studio hasn't confirmed save transfer, the demo's content suggests progress won't carry over. It offers early access to freeroam areas and battles, bypassing the game's natural story progression.

The demo lets players:

• Explore parts of Honolulu and Madlantis (areas unavailable early in the full game).
• Utilize Mad Dog and Sea Dog fighting styles.
• Battle powerful bounty enemies.
• Engage in four ship and deck battles within the Pirates' Coliseum.
• Experiment with new character customization options.
• Enjoy karaoke with three selectable songs.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii follows Goro Majima's amnesiac pirate adventure in Hawaii. The October Xbox Partner Showcase trailer highlighted ship combat reminiscent of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and the return of Taiga Saejima, hinting at stronger ties to the main series.

Expect a longer experience than Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, with an estimated playtime of 15-18 hours. Unlock a Kiryu Kazuma costume by subscribing to email notifications or a Sega rewards program.
