In The Open League, you'll manage your football team within servers consisting of 30 teams, organized into three distinct leagues. Each season, which spans three weeks, offers the chance for promotion and relegation. The top three football clubs earn promotion to a higher league, while the bottom three face relegation, adding a strategic layer to your management decisions.

The off-season is a critical period where your football team attends a youth camp, aiming to scout and recruit the next generation of legendary players. This camp, lasting a weekend, allows football managers to use scouting reports to make informed decisions on which young talents to bid on. Many successful team dynasties in TOL have been built on the foundation of successful youth camp campaigns.

Beyond the regular season, football managers can organize friendly matches and tournaments against other managers during the off-season. This feature fosters a vibrant community and allows for additional strategic play and team development.

At the end of each season, football managers retain their teams, with players developing and potentially declining over time. Effective squad management is crucial for long-term success, making your role as a manager pivotal in shaping a winning team.

Player transfers in TOL are negotiated directly with other human football managers via Discord, before being finalized within the TOL application. This system rewards those with sharp negotiation skills and strategic foresight, enabling them to thrive in the competitive environment of The Open League.

To assist you in managing your team, TOL utilizes friendly bots within Discord. For instance, you can directly message your assistant, Chris, to have him broadcast a press release about your latest triumphant match to all other clubs, enhancing your team's reputation and morale.

The Open League supports players across multiple timezones, with matches scheduled at 7:00pm PST, EST, and GMT, ensuring global accessibility and engagement.
