EA Says Madden and FC Might Find ‘Real Energy’ on Nintendo Switch 2

EA is reportedly planning to bring many of its popular games to the Nintendo Switch 2. During a recent financial call, CEO Andrew Wilson hinted at significant plans for the new console, specifically mentioning EA's flagship sports franchises, *Madden* and *EA SPORTS FC*, as having the potential for strong performance on the Switch 2. He also highlighted *The Sims* as a title well-suited to the platform, citing the success of *My Sims* on previous Nintendo consoles and the significant acquisition of new players it brought to EA.

Wilson emphasized the opportunity to reach new players with EA's established IPs on a new console. While acknowledging that concrete plans weren't yet finalized, he expressed confidence in the potential for success given the past performance of EA titles on Nintendo platforms. The success of *My Sims*, with 50% of players being new to EA, serves as a compelling example of this potential.

While the announcement of *Madden* and *EA SPORTS FC* on the Switch 2 isn't surprising, the question of which versions will be released remains. EA's history of releasing "legacy" versions of *FIFA* on previous Nintendo Switch consoles raises this question. However, with the Switch 2 offering more powerful hardware than its predecessor, there's hope for more feature parity with the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC versions of *EA SPORTS FC*. *EA SPORTS FC 26*, for instance, could potentially offer a significantly improved experience compared to previous Switch iterations.

The Nintendo Switch 2's game lineup is gradually taking shape. Numerous third-party titles are rumored, including *Civilization 7*, with Firaxis expressing interest in the console's potential "Joy-Con mouse mode." Nacon, a significant publisher, has confirmed it has Switch 2 games in development. The highly anticipated *Hollow Knight: Silksong* is also rumored to be among the Switch 2's launch titles. Nintendo itself is working on a new *Mario Kart* game, with further details expected at a Nintendo Direct in April.
