Paradox Interactive has unveiled its latest grand strategy game, Europa Universalis 5, following an intriguing tease last week. The publisher, known for titles like Cities: Skylines, Crusader Kings, and Stellaris, introduced the game with a captivating cinematic trailer. Developed by Paradox Tinto in Barcelona, Spain, the team behind Europa Universalis 4, this new installment promises to push the boundaries of the series. Europa Universalis 5 has been in development for over five years, with Paradox Tinto crafting the game with the dedicated Paradox fanbase in mind. The developers have integrated over a year of public feedback, emphasizing that the community's input has been crucial in shaping "the largest and most detailed Europa Universalis game ever made."
The game's campaign starts in 1337, at the onset of the Hundred Years' War, allowing players to navigate through significant historical events with a suite of new features. Key highlights include an expansive new map that utilizes accurate projection, showcasing hundreds of diverse societies. The game introduces a population-based system, along with enhanced production and trade mechanics.
