If you're using the Dexcom G6 or G6 Pro Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System, you're in the right place. Designed for people with diabetes, these systems provide essential real-time glucose monitoring without the need for fingerstick calibration, revolutionizing diabetes management. With the Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro, you get your glucose readings every five minutes, enabling you to make informed treatment decisions based on your current glucose levels. These systems are suitable for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes patients, and can be used by children as young as two years old.

A key advantage of the Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro is the ability to receive personalized trend alerts directly on your smart device. These alerts notify you when your glucose levels are trending too low or too high, helping you manage your condition more effectively. The Alert Schedule feature allows you to customize a second set of alerts, which can be adjusted to fit your daily routine. For instance, you can set different alert settings for work hours versus the rest of your day. You also have the option to choose custom alert sounds, including a Vibrate-Only setting, though the Urgent Low Alarm remains non-disableable for your safety.

The Always Sound setting, enabled by default, ensures you receive critical Dexcom CGM alerts even when your phone is on silent, vibrate, or in Do Not Disturb mode. This feature allows you to mute other notifications while still being alerted to important glucose level changes, including the Urgent Low Alarm, Low and High Glucose alerts, Urgent Low Soon Alert, and Rise and Fall Rate alerts. A home screen icon indicates whether your alerts are set to sound, and for safety reasons, certain alerts like Transmitter Failed, Sensor Failed, and App Stopped cannot be silenced.

Additional features include the ability to share your glucose data with up to ten followers using the Dexcom Follow app, which allows real-time monitoring on their compatible smart devices. This function requires an internet connection. You can also access Health Connect to share retrospective glucose data with third-party apps, and use Quick Glance to view your glucose data on your device's lock screen. For those with Wear OS watches, integration allows you to receive glucose alerts and alarms directly on your wrist.

Please note that the Share, Follow, Alert Schedule, Always Sound, Urgent Low Soon Alert, and Rise and Fall Rate alerts features are not available on the Dexcom G6 Pro System.
