Fireboy and Watergirl is one of the most beloved two-player games among children, standing out in the vast world of online and flash games.

Fireboy and Watergirl find themselves trapped in mysterious temples, working together to solve puzzles and escape. You can play solo, controlling one character at a time, or attempt to maneuver both simultaneously. The game is most enjoyable when played with a friend or sibling, each taking control of a different hero.

(The game is sometimes mistakenly referred to as Waterboy and Firegirl.)

In each temple, the duo must run and jump, navigating elemental hazards. Fireboy is immune to lava but harmed by water. Watergirl can traverse water safely but must avoid fire. Both must also dodge deadly spikes. The goal on each screen is to reach the exit doors—red for Fireboy, blue for Watergirl. Collect matching-colored diamonds along the way. Completing screens faster earns a higher score and ranking.

To progress, activate buttons to operate lifts, push boxes to create paths, and flip switches to open new routes.

But it's more than just avoiding pitfalls. You'll need genuine teamwork—one character may hold a switch to clear the path for the other before reuniting. Some levels test your speed, others require simultaneous movement, and some task you with collecting special items. You'll receive a grade at the end of each level, with the option to replay and improve your rating or hone your elemental skills.
