PUBG Blindspot: 5 Key Facts

by Lillian Oct 02,2025

PUBG: Blindspot is a fresh tactical offshoot of PUBG: Battlegrounds currently in development and playable at IGN Live. This 5v5 top-down shooter features an addictive team deathmatch mode we couldn't put down amid the convention's chaos, plus an upcoming Demolition mode where teams strategy and traps become game-changers. The comparison to a top-down Rainbow Six Siege isn't accidental - victory here demands both tactical thinking and sharp reflexes.

1. A Game of Tactical Peekaboo

Ditch your FPS instincts - this top-down PvP experience prioritizes strategic positioning over twitch reactions. Maps brim with environmental angles where maintaining sightlines becomes crucial. While you can view the entire battlefield, enemies only appear within your vision cone or when spotted by teammates. This creates intense moments where opponents can strike from unexpected angles, like sniping through windows while you're focused on doorways.

2. Demolition Mode Coming Soon

Though we didn't try Demolition Mode at the event, Production Director Seungmyeong Yang describes it as a more complex evolution of core gameplay. "Like Counter Strike or Valorant's bomb scenarios," Yang explained at IGN Live, "this asymmetrical mode pits attackers against defenders in building breach scenarios." This strategic layer cements the Rainbow Six parallels, albeit through a refreshing top-down lens.

3. Control Scheme Adaptation

The hybrid twin-stick keyboard controls require adjustment period. Movement flows through WASD while mouse controls your vision cone - right-click slows movement to aim weapons, creating tension between mobility and precision shooting. Advanced techniques include using mouse wheel adjustments for targeted body shots against crouching opponents.

4. Strategic Operator Selection

The current build features 10 distinctive operators catering to different playstyles. Aggressive players might favor Collision's close-range shotgun and traps, while tacticians could choose reconnaissance specialist Buddy with scanning drones. Character designs show remarkable personality too - Dropdown's dystopian anarchist aesthetic proves particularly memorable despite her unconventional toxic gas arsenal.

5. August Beta Access

While full launch details remain unannounced, a PC beta arrives this August. Players should monitor the game's official Steam page for upcoming testing phases and additional content reveals.
