Says It "Could Be Interesting"

The success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 might lead developer Sandfall Interactive to create a Switch 2 version. In a May 2 interview with French YouTuber mistermv, Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche discussed the studio's plans following their remarkable launch.

Broche noted that the game's achievements "change everything," and the team is evaluating their next steps. "Considering the game's success, it fundamentally alters our perspective," Broche stated.

When questioned about a Switch 2 release possibility, Broche mentioned they're currently evaluating numerous opportunities. "It's still too early to confirm, but we're in a situation where multiple interesting prospects are emerging. We're determining our priorities, and yes, a Switch 2 version could certainly be compelling," Broche elaborated.

With the Switch 2's anticipated launch, it would be fitting for this year's highest-rated game to also appear on Nintendo's upcoming handheld. Fans will need to wait to see if this Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG eventually becomes available on the new platform.

No Official Merchandise Yet

Sandfall Interactive has been receiving numerous requests and opportunities since their successful launch, including demands for official merchandise featuring the beloved character Esquie. The studio warned fans about counterfeit merchandise circulating online. In a May 14 tweet, they clarified: "To clarify, any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed."

They cautioned that many of these unauthorized products use AI-generated artwork and advised against purchasing them, as they may be scams. However, the studio confirmed they're exploring options to produce official Esquie plushies.

Their statement continued: "We're actively working on creating official Esquie plushies and hope to make them available soon. Until then, we appreciate your patience - and please beware of scams!"
