"Elden Ring Nightreign Excludes Poisonous Swamps"

by Eleanor May 05,2025

In the much-anticipated cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, fans of From Software's iconic poisonous swamps will be disappointed to learn these will not feature in the game. Yasuhiro Kitao, the project's product manager, confirmed this in a recent discussion with journalists. Although a similar setting appeared in the *Elden Ring Nightreign* trailer, it turns out to be a distinct location. Kitao explained that the absence of these swamps is due to the non-involvement of Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is famously known for championing these challenging environments in both *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series.

On a brighter note, there's a glimmer of hope for fans looking forward to different gameplay experiences. While *Elden Ring Nightreign* has so far announced single-player and three-player modes, the developers are now considering the inclusion of a two-player mode. Initially, this mode was left out due to challenges in balancing the content. However, From Software is currently weighing the possibility of adding this feature, though a final decision has yet to be made.

Mark your calendars for the release of *Elden Ring Nightreign* on May 30, 2025, as it will be available on PC and two generations of consoles.
