NIKKE Global Players Decry China Server Bias

Frustration is mounting among global players of GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE, who feel the Chinese (CN) server is receiving preferential treatment. Discover more about the community's reaction to developer SHIFT UP's strategy and details on upcoming changes.
Global NIKKE Players Boycott Game Over CN Server Disparities
Growing Discontent Among Global Players

Global players of GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE are voicing their disappointment over disparities with the Chinese server. Since its launch on May 22, the CN version has showcased significant improvements missing from the global release.
In a Reddit post from May 22, user Glittering_Novel_783 highlighted that the CN server incorporates numerous quality-of-life upgrades that the global community has requested for over two years. These include faster loading times, an auto-progress feature for Tribe Towers, enhanced character buffs, and more rewarding in-game shops.

Notably, players observed superior quality in the CN server's Regular and Manufacturer Molds, which are used to acquire new characters. On the global server, high-quality Molds offer roughly a 60% chance for an SSR and 40% for an SR, while Manufacturer Molds have a 50% SSR, 30% SR, and 20% R chance.
The CN server, however, features a more player-friendly system. It includes a pity mechanic that guarantees an SSR after accumulating 50 shards from pulls—a feature absent globally. Some reports also suggest that Manufacturer Molds on the CN server may exclude R-tier characters, boosting the odds of obtaining higher-rarity units.
Community Backlash Intensifies

Reddit users expressed dismay, feeling the global version is being neglected. Many argued that SHIFT UP has no justification for withholding the CN server's improvements from the global player base. Some drew parallels to other games with regional disparities, suggesting developers often prioritize the lucrative Chinese market.
The official NIKKE Discord's feedback channel has been inundated with complaints. Numerous highly-upvoted threads, garnering hundreds to thousands of comments, capture the community's frustration.
The most prominent thread demands that global players receive the same benefits as the CN server. One user shared evidence of an exclusive Private skin released only in China, sparking widespread demand for its global availability. The conversation continues to grow, with player dissatisfaction showing no signs of abating.
SHIFT UP Addresses the Controversy

In their May 2025 Developer's Note, SHIFT UP acknowledged the significant divergence from the global version, stating the CN server will maintain a separate build. They explained, "The 2.5-year gap and separate builds carry risks of story spoilers but also allow for unique and complementary features."
The developers recognized player frustration regarding the differences, asserting that both versions "will evolve independently under different conditions" and that "their distinct paths will enrich one another."
SHIFT UP pledged ongoing support for both editions of the game, stating, "We remain fully committed to the global version and will continue working to strengthen both experiences in parallel."
Players React to the Developer's Statement

Despite SHIFT UP's clarification, the community's outrage persisted. Subreddits like r/NikkeMobile and r/gachagaming mocked the response, viewing it as a tactic to placate players without substantive action.
The statement that differences "enrich one another" became a target for memes and satire, with user satufa2 posting an image of a person gradually turning into a clown. In protest, players organized review-bombing campaigns and urged others to halt all in-game spending—a common tactic in gacha games to pressure developers by impacting revenue.

This "spending freeze" is intended to force SHIFT UP to address the core issues and align global updates with the CN server's standards. As of now, forums and Discord channels remain flooded with demands for change. It remains uncertain whether SHIFT UP will issue a further statement or proceed with its plan for region-specific content.
