Hand-Drawn Photography Adventure Game TOEM Opens Pre-Registration on Mobile

BAFTA award-winning title TOEM: A Photo Adventure is arriving on mobile devices worldwide. Developed by Swedish indie studio Something We Made, pre-registration for TOEM is now live on Android, with the official release set for October 22nd.

By the way, the game entered early access in the US this past June. It first launched in September 2021 on Windows, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5. While Something We Made published it on those platforms, Snapbreak handles mobile publishing.

What’s the setting?

TOEM: A Photo Adventure follows a young photographer journeying through towns and landscapes inspired by Scandinavia. You advance by collecting stamps, earned by assisting NPCs with unique tasks.

Sometimes, they’ll ask you to find hidden animals, solve whimsical puzzles, or capture the perfect photo. Once you’ve gathered enough stamps, you can hop on the bus and head to the next destination—continuing your journey toward the mysterious natural phenomenon known as TOEM.

Every NPC has something for you to do, but not all tasks are mandatory. There are more stamps available than required, so you can choose to complete every challenge for full completion—or just help enough people to keep moving forward.

The world of TOEM is rendered in a striking black-and-white, hand-drawn art style. Along the way, you’ll earn accessories, clothing, and gadgets to customize your character.

The game features inventive mechanics, such as switching between a top-down exploration view and a first-person camera mode—enhancing the feeling of immersion.
