Disneyland Paris Unveils The Lion King Ride and Disney Adventure World Expansion Plans

Disneyland Paris has released captivating new images, details, and a Fall 2025 construction start for The Lion King ride.

According to Disney Parks Blog, the first-ever The Lion King-themed land and attraction will be a major highlight of the rebranded Disney Adventure World, formerly Walt Disney Studios Park. This immersive water ride, showcasing iconic moments from the 1994 film, will be set against a 120-foot-tall Pride Rock, complemented by dining, shopping, character interactions, and more.

Disney revealed a stunning concept image from the ride, viewable above, featuring Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying grubs in a lush jungle. The ride includes a thrilling 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

Although an exact opening date is pending, the attraction will follow the 2026 debut of World of Frozen. It forms part of Disney Adventure World’s expansion, doubling the park’s current size.

Besides World of Frozen and The Lion King ride, the park will introduce the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, with Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel, and a first-of-its-kind Up-themed attraction. This spinning carousel will provide breathtaking views of the park’s scenic landscape.

On May 15, 2025, World Premiere will debut as Disney Adventure World’s new entrance, evoking a glamorous Hollywood premiere. World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will host theaters showcasing TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
