Infinity Nikki Update 1.5 Sparks Uninstall Threats Over Controversial Changes
Infinity Nikki and its much-anticipated multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have finally hit Steam, but the launch has been overshadowed by a flurry of drama and discontent among its player base.
After months of exclusivity on the Epic Game Store, Infold Games’ stylish dress-up adventure landed on Valve’s digital platform, much to the excitement of fans. However, the celebration was short-lived due to a host of technical issues, surprising design changes, and the steep requirements for new outfits. In response, the developers issued an apology and promised compensation to affected players, yet the battle for the heart of Infinity Nikki is far from over.

While technical issues at launch are not uncommon, the community's frustration extended beyond performance woes.
The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each comprising 11 pieces, has sparked significant backlash. Players are now facing the prospect of up to 220 pulls to complete a set, a sharp increase from what they were accustomed to. This change, implemented without prior notice, has raised concerns that future outfit requirements might escalate even further.
Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks. This sudden shift, combined with ongoing technical issues and perceived aggressive monetization tactics, led the Chinese player base to voice their discontent on the social platform RedNote. The movement quickly gained momentum, with players worldwide rallying to boycott Infinity Nikki on Steam, leave negative reviews, and uninstall the game across all platforms.
Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players.““What I am reminding people of is a decent amount of Chinese IN stylists pledging to not spend/pull on the banners to send a message to the digital income trackers for the game,” Reddit user kiaxxl stated in a call-to-action post. “For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players.”
The outcry from the community has been effective, as evidenced by the game's "Mixed" rating on Steam, where players have left negative reviews to caution potential new users until their concerns are addressed.
The backlash culminated in Infold issuing an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging the technical issues and promising to enhance communication about future adjustments. The letter expressed gratitude for the community's support and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience
Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
In an effort to make amends, Infold announced plans to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and begin the next season on the same day. Players will also receive compensation in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While these steps are seen as progress, they fall short of the comprehensive changes many players hoped for.
While some view Infold's concessions as a victory, others remain wary, particularly about the persistence of 11-piece outfits. Despite promises of better communication, it appears that some five-star outfits will continue to require 11 pieces.
I wish you would finally chance the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

The community has celebrated the swift response to their protests, but boycotters are urging continued pressure to ensure lasting change.
“Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will be 11 pieces,” Reddit user EdensAsmr said. “Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will not cut it.”
