LHEA: Forge Destiny Between Life and Death

LHEA and the Word Spirit is an upcoming puzzle adventure game for mobile and PC platforms. Developed by solo developer Jo Drolet under the Soul Fuel Games label, this title represents Drolet's first major project.

After almost three years in development, the game launches on September 22nd. It combines casual roguelite mechanics with turn-based strategy elements. Alongside the release date announcement, the developer has released several previews of the game.

What is LHEA and the Word Spirit?

The narrative begins in the In-Between, where protagonist Lhea awakens. This dreamlike realm exists in the space between life and death. Guided by an ancient Word Spirit, she must master an unconventional combat system.

Players will manipulate timelines, assist lost souls in moving forward, and ultimately restore equilibrium by sealing broken realms. The combat system stands out for its unique timeline manipulation mechanics.

To maintain engaging gameplay, State of Mind and Harmony power-ups offer various tactical advantages. The Fate Flute serves as a mystical instrument capable of holding nine enchanted rings across three preset configurations. Each ring unlocks knowledge spells that enhance your capabilities.

While clearly drawing inspiration from successful titles like Monument Valley, Child of Light, and Radiant Historia, the game shows considerable promise.
