"Marvel Champions: Ultimate Card Guide"
Marvel Contest of Champions (MCoC) isn't just a mobile game; it also offers an exciting arcade version available at Dave & Buster's locations, adding a unique twist to the MCoC action. This arcade machine features intense 3v3 battles between two players, with victories determined over the best of three rounds. The real draw, however, comes after each match, when both players receive a Champion Card, a tangible collectible featuring one of the many Marvel heroes or villains from the game.

These cards are more than just collectibles; they can be scanned into the arcade machine to select specific champions before a match. With two series released so far, there are now over 175 cards, including standard and foil variants. Whether you're aiming to enhance your battles or complete your collection, here's everything you need to know about MCoC Champion Cards.
What Are Champion Cards?
Champion Cards are physical trading cards dispensed from the Marvel Contest of Champions arcade machines at Dave & Buster's. Each card represents a different character from the game and can be used to select champions when playing the arcade version. If you don’t scan any cards, the machine will randomly assign champions for you.
Each card features a specific Marvel character from MCoC and includes a foil variant, much like other collectible arcade cards from games such as Mario Kart Arcade GP and Injustice Arcade. The first series introduced 75 different champions, while the second series expanded to 100 total cards.
After a match, the machine dispenses a Champion Card for each player, regardless of who wins. The outcome of the match doesn't influence which card you receive, ensuring an equal chance for everyone to get a specific champion. The cards are drawn from one of the two existing series: Series 1, which features 75 different champions, and Series 2, which expands the selection to 100. Each card also comes with a rare foil variant, making it even more collectible.
While Champion Cards are not necessary to play the arcade game, they add an extra layer of strategy and customization. Players can scan their favorite cards to strategically choose champions, giving them an edge in battles. Although these cards don't transfer to the mobile version of Marvel Contest of Champions, they enrich the arcade experience with their collectible nature. Champion Card Rarity and Collectibility
Like traditional trading cards, MCoC Champion Cards have a strong collectible appeal. While all cards function identically in the arcade game, many players enjoy collecting the full set, especially the rare foil versions. The second series introduced new designs while retaining many characters from the first series, resulting in some cards appearing in multiple styles.
The total list of available cards includes:
- Series 1 (2019): 75 champion cards featuring classic MCoC characters.
- Series 2 (later release): 100 cards, with reskinned versions of Series 1 and additional characters.
- Foil variants: Special, rarer versions of standard cards that are more valuable.
Some players aim to complete the entire set, while others collect their favorite Marvel characters or seek out the foil cards. Since the only way to obtain them is by playing at Dave & Buster's, these cards have become a fun, exclusive collectible for Marvel fans.
If you prefer building your champion roster digitally, consider playing the main MCoC game on PC with BlueStacks, where you can train, upgrade, and battle with your favorite characters without needing an arcade visit!
Where to Get Marvel Contest of Champions Champion Cards
Currently, these cards are exclusively available at Dave & Buster's locations equipped with the Marvel Contest of Champions arcade cabinet. They cannot be purchased from the in-game store or earned through the mobile version of MCoC.
If you're aiming to collect them all, your best strategies are:
- Play the arcade machine frequently to obtain new cards.
- Meet with other players and trade to complete your collection.
- Check online marketplaces where some collectors sell their extra cards.
Since new series might be released in the future, staying updated with Dave & Buster's arcade announcements is wise if you want to stay ahead in your collecting endeavors.
Marvel Contest of Champions Champion Cards add a physical collectible dimension to the arcade experience, making it even more engaging for players. Whether you scan them for in-game use or collect them as a Marvel enthusiast, these cards offer a unique way to engage with MCoC beyond the mobile app.
