Marvel Rivals Reaches Player Count Milestone Again Following Rollout of Season 1
Marvel Rivals Shatters Concurrent Player Record with Season 1 Launch

Marvel Rivals, the popular free-to-play team-based shooter, has once again broken its own concurrent player record, reaching a staggering 644,269 players on January 11th following the release of Season 1: Eternal Night Falls. This surpasses its previous peak of 480,990 players achieved during its launch week.
Season 1: Eternal Night Falls – A Night of New Content

Launched on January 10th, Season 1 introduced a wealth of new content, driving players to the servers in droves. This includes exciting additions such as new playable characters, a fresh map, significant game improvements and optimizations, a revamped ranked tier system, and a brand-new Battle Pass. The influx of players clearly demonstrates the community's enthusiasm for the update.

The season's narrative revolves around Dracula and Doctor Doom plunging the game's city into perpetual darkness and unleashing vampiric forces. To counter this threat, the heroes gain powerful new allies: the Fantastic Four.
For detailed patch notes, including individual character skill adjustments, visit the official Marvel Rivals website or the Steam community hub.
Mod Support Removed in the Latest Update

While Season 1 brought extensive new content, it also resulted in the removal of community-created mods. The update implemented asset hash checking, a security measure designed to detect inconsistencies in game files. This effectively prevents the use of unauthorized modifications, including cheats, hacks, and custom skins.
This change has sparked a mixed reaction within the community. Some players mourn the loss of custom content, such as unique skins, while others view it as a necessary step to maintain fair play and protect the game's economy, which relies on cosmetic purchases.
