Mortal Kombat 1 showed an in-game image of T-1000 and showed details of Pro Tour
Let's be frank: Mortal Kombat 1 is struggling. Season 3 content appears canceled due to underwhelming sales, and the recently released Pro Kompetition trailer, showcasing the game's esports circuit, is underwhelming at best.
The 2025 Pro Kompetition boasts a total prize pool of $255,000. This is a relatively small sum, even within fighting game community (FGC) standards. Previously, top players voiced concerns about insufficient prize money, making international travel for potentially meager earnings unsustainable.

This year's competitive scene will likely see a North American and a European player base, converging only at EVO 2025 – the premier fighting game tournament.
While there's a palpable attempt to generate excitement, and the teased in-game T-1000 image does create some buzz, the overall picture remains concerning.
