New Team-Up Skills and Changes

Marvel Rivals Season 2 Brings More Team-Up Skills and Skins

In a recent interview with PC Gamer on March 14, Marvel Rivals Game Director Guangyun Chen shared insights into the upcoming changes for Season 2. "Starting from Season 2, we will introduce new Team-Up skills with the seasonal update and adjust some existing ones," Chen stated. These adjustments, combined with overall balance changes, aim to create a fresh combat environment and enhance player experience.

Currently, the game boasts 17 team-up skills, including Ragnarok Rebirth for Hela with Loki or Thor, Lunar Force for Cloak & Dagger and Moon Knight, and Allied Agents for Hawkeye and Black Widow. With the expanding roster, balancing these hero combinations will be a challenging yet exciting task for the developers at NetEase.

Balancing Heroes

Chen also discussed the team's approach to balancing heroes amidst the game's growing character lineup. "First, we will closely monitor key metrics for heroes across different modes," he explained. This includes analyzing data such as win rates, pick rates, damage, healing, damage taken, and final blows in various ranks and tournaments. Such data forms the backbone of their balancing efforts.

Additionally, Chen highlighted the importance of analyzing hero lineup compositions and their win rates within different modes, which will guide the overall balancing direction. Community feedback will also play a crucial role in these decisions.

In an earlier interview with Metro in January, Chen mentioned that Marvel Rivals plans to introduce a new hero every half-season. With each season lasting around three months, this means eight new heroes will join the roster annually. As the game expands, the challenge of maintaining balance will only intensify.

Chen assured fans that the content for Season 2 is complete and ready to roll out. Moreover, designs for Seasons 3 and 4 are already finalized and in development, indicating a smooth progression. This aligns with NetEase's commitment to support Marvel Rivals for at least 10 years, promising a continuous stream of engaging updates.

Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Ironman Coming on March 20

NetEase announced via Marvel Rivals' official Twitter (X) account on March 18 that new skins for Spiderman and Iron Man will be available starting March 20 at 7 PM PDT / 10 PM EDT / March 21 at 2:00 AM UTC. Spiderman's "Spider-Punk 2099" skin features a futuristic look with a digital mask, spiked mohawk, and an electric guitar, while Iron Man's "Steam Power" skin adopts a steampunk aesthetic with large exhaust pipes and a burning furnace on his torso.

These skins were highly anticipated, having been showcased during the game's closed beta. Following the release of Loki’s Presidential attire, which was also part of the beta, fans are eager to see these new additions. Although the release date has been set, pricing details remain undisclosed.

As Season 1 draws to a close, NetEase is preparing for more exciting updates and changes in Season 2. Marvel Rivals is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates by clicking on our article below!
