Sony has filed two intriguing patents, focusing on enhancing the gaming experience. These innovations include an AI-powered camera system to predict player actions and a gun-style trigger attachment for the DualSense controller.

AI-Driven Lag Reduction

The "Timed Input/Action Release" patent details a camera system that observes the player and controller. This footage is analyzed by an AI, anticipating the player's next input. The system could even interpret partial controller actions, inferring the player's intent. The goal? To proactively process inputs, minimizing lag in online gaming.

Enhanced Gunplay with a DualSense Attachment

A second patent introduces a trigger attachment transforming the DualSense controller into a more realistic firearm simulation. Players hold the controller sideways, using the space between the R1 and R2 buttons as the sight. Pulling the trigger mimics firing a weapon, enhancing immersion in FPS and action-adventure games. The patent suggests compatibility with PSVR2.
