Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Dynasty Warriors: Origins offers three distinct campaigns, each featuring a hidden true ending. This guide details how to unlock the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction.

To begin, complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks the ability to replay completed stages. Look for a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban" – this signifies an alternate ending. Normally, you help Liu Bei escape while Zhang Fei defends the bridge. However, to unlock the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao instead of facilitating Liu Bei's escape.

To increase your chances:

1. Reduce Difficulty: Set the game to Historian mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this crucial, especially at lower levels.
2. Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei as your partner. This starts you closer to Cao Cao's forces, saving travel time.

Prepare for two Grand Tactics: one requiring two officer kills, the other 250 soldier defeats. A weapon like twin pikes is recommended for the latter. Once Cao Cao's army is weakened, defeating him should be manageable. Afterward, a few additional missions lead to the Shu true ending.
