Alan Wake 2 developers want to become “Europe's Naughty Dog”

Remedy Entertainment's ambition: To be Europe's Naughty Dog. Inspired by Naughty Dog's cinematic masterpieces like the Uncharted series, Remedy Entertainment, led by Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley, aims to establish itself as a leading European game developer, mirroring the success of its American counterpart.

Rowley, in a Behind The Voice podcast interview, revealed this ambition, highlighting how this influence shaped both Quantum Break and Alan Wake 2. The cinematic style of Alan Wake 2, renowned for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative, directly reflects this inspiration. The game's success has cemented Remedy's position as a top European studio.

Remedy's aspirations extend beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's mastery of single-player cinematic experiences, exemplified by Uncharted and the critically acclaimed, award-winning The Last of Us franchise, serves as a benchmark.

Alan Wake 2, even over a year post-launch, continues to receive updates enhancing gameplay across all platforms. A significant addition is a "Balanced" graphics option optimized for the PS5 Pro, skillfully blending the performance and quality modes. These updates also include minor graphical tweaks for smoother framerates and clearer visuals, alongside bug fixes, particularly impacting the Lake House expansion.
