⚫︎ As the launch of Elden Ring: Nightreign draws near, FromSoftware has introduced another playable character, Raider, through a trailer released on April 15 on Twitter (X). Raider, an aging Viking armed with a formidable axe, demonstrates his prowess in combat by single-handedly defeating a dragon. The trailer also showcases his unique ability to summon a massive monolith block, which creates elevated platforms beneficial for ranged characters and offers tactical advantages for aerial attacks.

Originally planning to cycle through bosses from all FromSoftware games, the player focused on Messmer due to time constraints, citing their final year of university.

⚫︎ In an interview with Famitsu, game director Junya Ishizaki revealed that Elden Ring: Nightreign will incorporate a small number of enemies from the Dark Souls series, reflecting the chaos introduced by the Night King and aligning with the game’s theme of disruption. Set in a parallel universe, Nightreign allows FromSoftware to reference its past titles. The game will feature eight distinct playable characters, each with unique abilities and backstories, and a new progression system spanning three virtual days, altering the map with new events, enemies, and points of interest. The Spectral Hawk will assist players in exploring the evolving landscape.

⚫︎ Elden Ring: Nightreign will offer both single-player and three-player co-op modes but will not support two-player gameplay. Director Junya Ishizaki confirmed to IGN that the game is designed for solo or trio play, with no option for duos.
