Ned Luke, the voice behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, boldly predicts GTA 6 will generate a staggering $1.3 billion in its first 24 hours. In a recent interview with Fall Damage, Luke expressed his confidence in the game's potential, highlighting Rockstar's knack for the unexpected.

Luke emphasized patience, assuring fans, "It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He referenced GTA 5's impressive $800 million day-one debut in 2013, suggesting GTA 6 will significantly surpass that record. Market research firm DFC Intelligence projects over 40 million copies sold and $3.2 billion in revenue within the first year, with $1 billion attributed to pre-orders alone.

The Return of GTA 5 Characters?

Luke also offered insights into the possibility of GTA 5 characters returning, specifically addressing Michael's absence from GTA Online compared to Trevor and Franklin's appearances. He hinted at a potential Michael cameo in a final GTA Online DLC or even a role in GTA 6.

While Steven Ogg (Trevor) previously suggested a "passing the torch" scenario for his character, Luke remained coy, stating, "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6... Maybe. Maybe not." He acknowledged Rockstar's tight-lipped nature and the potential repercussions of revealing too much. Despite the actors' enthusiasm, official confirmation of their return remains elusive.

GTA 6: In the Testing Phase?

Former Rockstar animator Mike York, in a since-deleted interview, indicated that GTA 6 is likely undergoing internal testing. He highlighted the game's unique unpredictability, stating, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it."

York believes the game is currently in an advanced testing phase, potentially playable and undergoing extensive internal review. He suggests that significant additions and refinements are still underway.

Rockstar Games unveiled a GTA 6 teaser in December 2023, but subsequent details have been scarce. While a Fall 2025 release was previously speculated, based on Take-Two Interactive's financial reports, an official release date remains unconfirmed.
