LEGO Unveils In-House Gaming Projects

by Joseph May 24,2025

LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has unveiled ambitious plans to enhance the iconic toy brand's footprint in the digital realm by venturing into video game development. This strategic move involves crafting games both independently and through collaborative partnerships, reflecting LEGO's commitment to providing engaging experiences for children across all ages on both digital and physical platforms.

"We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing." - Niels Christiansen

This expansion into video game development does not signal the end of LEGO's collaborations with third-party developers. In fact, recent reports from journalist Jason Schreier indicate that TT Games, renowned for its LEGO-themed titles, is currently developing a new game, possibly linked to a Warner Bros. franchise.

LEGO's most notable gaming endeavor to date is its partnership with Epic Games, highlighted by the introduction of a LEGO-themed mode in Fortnite last year. This mode swiftly gained popularity, becoming one of the game's most beloved features. LEGO's long-standing relationship with TT Games has also produced a successful line of adventure games over the past two decades. Although new releases from the studio have been sparse recently, there are whispers of a new LEGO Harry Potter game in development, buoyed by the success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which was a commercial triumph.

Further demonstrating LEGO's adaptability in the gaming sector, the company collaborated with 2K Games to launch LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game released last year. This venture underscores LEGO's ongoing commitment to diversifying its presence in the digital entertainment industry.
