Day One Patch Delay for Xbox Players

MindsEye, the highly anticipated action-adventure from Grand Theft Auto veteran Leslie Benzies, finally arrives today on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox consoles. However, Xbox Series X/S owners face an unexpected hurdle - they'll be waiting longer for the crucial day one patch than other platforms.

Build A Rocket Boy broke the news last night on Reddit, explaining that "varied platform certification" processes mean the substantial 16GB update won't be ready for Xbox at launch. The team strongly recommends installing this patch, calling it essential for experiencing the game as intended.

What's Missing in the Xbox Version?

The delayed update contains vital improvements including:

  • Critical gameplay refinements
  • Enhanced visual quality
  • Stability fixes
  • Performance optimizations

While PlayStation 5 and PC players can dive straight into the polished experience, Xbox users face uncertainty. The studio couldn't provide an exact timeframe, only promising the patch would arrive "as soon as possible."

A Rocky Road to Launch

This update controversy follows last week's drama when early copies surfaced before release. The unpatched version drew criticism for technical issues, with some calling it a "mess." Build A Rocket Boy urged players to wait for the official launch to experience the complete vision.

The situation grew more complex when studio comments about "bias" sparked speculation about potential review manipulation. IO Interactive's Hakan Abrak, whose company publishes MindsEye, dismissed these theories, telling IGN: "The game should speak for itself."

About MindsEye

Originally conceived as part of the abandoned Everywhere platform, MindsEye has transformed into a complete narrative experience starring Jacob Diaz - a traumatized ex-drone pilot on a mission to uncover his past.

While retaining some customization features from its Everywhere roots, the game now focuses primarily on its psychological thriller storyline rather than metaverse elements.

Available now on most platforms, with Xbox players advised to hold off until the patch arrives for the optimal experience.
