Introducing an invaluable resource for Sunday School educators: the Audio Visual Lessons for Evangelism and Basic Bible Teaching. This comprehensive tool has been thoughtfully crafted based on the Sunday School Lessons published by the AIC Sunday School Committee in Juba, Southern Sudan, and has been adapted for broader use by Global Recordings Network Australia, with the gracious permission of the Africa Inland Church, Sudan. These lessons are designed to be used in tandem with the engaging audio visual picture books provided by Global Recordings Network, offering a dynamic and interactive teaching experience.
Born out of a heartfelt response to young people's pleas for assistance in teaching Sunday School, these lessons incorporate vital visual aids to enhance comprehension and retention among students. The app features a rich collection of 226 Bible lessons, organized into 9 books, drawing inspiration from the acclaimed Good News and Look, Listen, and Live audio visual programs, which are accessible through the 5fish app.
The app's user-friendly interface includes essential functionalities such as title search, detailed teacher instructions for each lesson, the ability to play English audio recordings, and the display of corresponding pictures for each lesson story. Importantly, the app supports offline use, with the exception of the audio component, ensuring accessibility even in areas with limited internet connectivity.
Each lesson is meticulously planned to last approximately twenty minutes, focusing solely on the instructional segment of the Sunday School session. This leaves ample time for teachers to incorporate additional elements such as singing, prayer, Bible reading, quizzes, and other interactive activities. We strongly suggest concluding each lesson with a brief prayer and song that reinforce the week's teachings. These lessons are tailored for children aged 7 to 12, aiming to captivate and educate a diverse age range.
Initially, teachers manually transcribed these lessons into exercise books week by week, keeping them intentionally concise. While some lessons have been expanded over time, the goal remains to provide a brief yet comprehensive outline that teachers can enrich during their preparation. The aim, printed at the top of each story, serves as a guide for the lesson's focus. Recognizing that it's impossible to convey the full scope of God's truth in a single lesson, the approach is to emphasize one or two key truths per session, gradually building the children's understanding of God.
It's important to note that these lessons are not intended to be read verbatim to the class. Instead, they serve as a guiding "walking stick" for teachers, encouraging them to engage actively and creatively with the material rather than relying on it as a set of "crutches."
