Microsoft to Share More Halo News in October

by Patrick Feb 12,2026

What's on the horizon for Halo? Fans can anticipate another glimpse this October at the Halo World Championship 2025.

In a recent blog post, Tahir "Tashi" Hasandjekic, Esports Lead for the Halo franchise, hinted that attendees of the Seattle event from October 24-26 will discover what Halo Studios has been developing.

At last October's championship, developer 343 Industries revealed its rebranding to Halo Studios and confirmed several projects were underway. Simultaneously, the studio announced that all future games would be built on Unreal Engine, moving away from the Slipspace Engine used for Halo Infinite.

These reveals came during a seven-minute video aired before the grand finals. It highlighted the outcomes of Project Foundry—an experimental initiative demonstrating Halo gameplay on Unreal Engine—and signaled a fresh start for Xbox's flagship series following 2021's Halo Infinite.

Tashi's post recalled last year's announcements and hinted at more news coming this October.

"Recently, there's been considerable speculation about when and where details on Halo Studios' multiple active projects might surface," Tashi stated. "We typically avoid commenting, but this time we wanted to join the conversation and offer more insight for fans deciding whether to attend this year's event.

"Last year at HaloWC, we premiered 'A New Dawn,' where we discussed the shift to Unreal Engine, provided a behind-the-scenes look at Project Foundry, and unveiled our evolution into Halo Studios as we entered a new chapter. For us, 'A New Dawn' was just the beginning—we look forward to continuing that conversation at this year's HaloWC.

"Speculation is entertaining, but if you want the official details on Halo Studios' work, you won't want to miss this year's Halo World Championship. We genuinely hope you'll join us in Seattle this October!"

So, what might Halo Studios reveal? A full gameplay unveil for the next major Halo title seems improbable, but we could see a more in-depth tech demo showcasing Halo on Unreal Engine. Earlier this month, reports suggested Microsoft is preparing a Halo: Combat Evolved remaster for a 2026 release, potentially for platforms including PlayStation 5. We might get our first look at that project.
