Immerse yourself in the timeless fun of the 29 Card Game, also known as the 28 Card Game in some regions due to slight rule variations. This beloved South Asian trick-taking game features the Jack and the Nine as the highest cards in each suit, promising an engaging experience for players of all skill levels.

Designed for four players in fixed partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other, 29 uses a 32-card deck drawn from a standard 52-card pack. The game includes eight cards per suit—hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades—ranked from high to low: J-9-A-10-K-Q-8-7. The objective is to capture tricks that contain valuable cards to score points.

The card values are as follows:

Jacks: 3 points each
Nines: 2 points each
Aces: 1 point each
Tens: 1 point each
Other cards (K, Q, 8, 7): no points

This totals to 28 points from cards. In certain versions, an additional point is awarded for winning the last trick, bringing the total to 29 points and giving the game its name. However, many contemporary players do not count the point for the last trick, yet the game retains the name "29."

Traditionally, the Twos, Threes, Fours, and Fives discarded from the full deck serve as trump indicators, with each player receiving a set of these cards in each suit. The Sixes are utilized for keeping score, with each partnership using one red and one black Six.
