How to Play Batak Trump Spades

Number of Players: 4

The game uses a standard 52-card deck. Each player receives 13 cards. All spades are designated as trump cards.

In Swamp Trump Spades, only spades can be called as trump.

The goal is to predict the number of tricks you can take before the round begins and then secure at least that many.

Starting with the player to the dealer's right, everyone states their predicted trick count, which is recorded on the scoreboard.

Gameplay:

If no card is on the table, the next player leads with any card. If a card is already played, they must follow suit if possible.

If unable to follow suit, the player may play a trump card; otherwise, any card can be discarded.

Scoring:

After each round, scores are calculated based on the initial bid and the actual tricks won, directly proportional to both.

If the player meets or exceeds their bid:

10 × bid amount + (tricks won - bid amount) points.

If the player wins fewer tricks than their bid:

-10 × bid amount points.

A player who bids zero tricks:

Earns +50 points if they take no tricks, or -50 points if they win any trick.

'Settling' refers to failing to achieve your bid by the end of the game.
