Japanese Mahjong

Japanese Mahjong is a captivating game that follows a unique set of rules, distinct from other Mahjong variants. To play, you'll use a slider located at the bottom of the screen to select and then tap to discard tiles.

The objective of the game is to complete a winning hand, which consists of four Melds and one Pair. An example of a winning hand could be: [1, 2, 3][6, 6, 6][6, 7, 8][N, N, N][4, 4]. However, certain hands are not valid if they involve Chi, Pon, or Open Kan maneuvers.

It's crucial to be aware of specific rules regarding the numbers 1 and 9 when performing Chi and Pon. In Japanese Mahjong, at least one valid hand is required to win.

Players can declare "Reach" by paying 1,000 points, which allows them to form a hand. However, Reach cannot be declared if Chi, Pon, or Open Kan have been used. A closed hand, one that hasn't used these actions, can yield higher points.

Understanding the concept of a "Lost Hand" is also important. A Lost Hand occurs when a player is Waiting but cannot win off another player's discard because they have already discarded a winning tile themselves. Even with a Lost Hand, self-draw remains a possibility. The key is to never allow the opponent to win with a Ron (winning off another's discard) on a tile you've discarded.

To succeed, you must carefully analyze the other players' discards to strategize and complete your hand.
