Tute Cabrero

Tute Cabrero is a beloved card game widely enjoyed across South America.

Played by 3 to 5 players in a free-for-all format, Tute Cabrero has no teams.

The goal is to score either the most or the fewest points (“ir a más” or “ir a menos”); the player in second place loses. The game uses a 40-card Spanish deck.

Cards rank from highest to lowest as follows: Ace (11 points), 3 (10 points), King (4 points), Knight (3 points), Jack (2 points). The 7, 6, 5, 4, and 2 have no point value.

The first card played in a trick sets the suit. Each player must follow suit if possible. If unable, any card may be played. The trump suit always wins the trick. When no trump is played, the highest card of the leading suit takes the trick.
