Tarneeb, commonly known as "Blackjack" in Arab countries, particularly in the Levant, and as "rule" in the Arab Gulf states, is a popular card game that captivates players with its strategic depth and competitive spirit. The primary goal of Tarneeb is to win consecutive rounds, also known as "Tarneeb groups," through skillful play and teamwork.

The game is structured for four players, forming two teams of two, with partners sitting opposite each other. A standard 52-card deck is used, excluding Jokers, ensuring a straightforward and engaging gameplay experience. The dealer begins by distributing the cards to the right, setting the stage for an exciting round of Tarneeb.

The bidding process, which starts the game, is initiated by the player to the dealer's left. Bidding ranges from 7 to 13, known as "Cabot" or "livers," and the highest bidder chooses the Tarneeb suit. Bidding continues clockwise from the player to the dealer's right, with the highest bidder earning the right to set the Tarneeb for the round.

During play, if a team fails to meet their bid, they face penalties. For example, if a team bids for 10 tricks but only wins 9, the opposing team scores the difference, which in this case would be 4 points. Conversely, if the opposing team wins 5 tricks, any discrepancies or cheating attempts are revealed, ensuring fair play.

The game concludes when one team reaches a predetermined score, typically 61 or 31 points, agreed upon before the game begins. The card hierarchy in Tarneeb follows a specific order, with the Ace (Cut) being the highest, followed by the King (Sheikh), Queen (girl), Jack (born), and then descending numerically from 10 to 2.
