Denuvo DRM is Being Removed from inZOI

The developer behind inZOI has officially confirmed that Denuvo DRM will be stripped from the game. Over the past day, multiple sources highlighted that the demo for Creative Studio mode contained the anti-tampering software. The use of Denuvo has long been divisive within the gaming community, with many users citing negative impacts on performance.
This digital rights management and anti-tamper solution is intended to block unauthorized copying and distribution of PC titles, hindering pirates from releasing cracked versions.
In a Steam blog post published on March 26, inZOI Director Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim acknowledged player concerns and clarified that the upcoming Early Access build, scheduled for a Friday release, will ship without any DRM. “Originally, we integrated Denuvo to safeguard the game from illegal distribution. Our intention was to maintain fairness for those who purchased the game legitimately. But upon reviewing community input, we recognized that this decision did not reflect what our players expected,” Kjun explained.

He also expressed regret for not informing players earlier about Denuvo’s presence in the Creative Studio mode. Though removing DRM increases the risk of illegal cracking and distribution, Kjun noted it will allow inZOI to be fully configurable, empowering players to tailor and craft unique gameplay experiences. “We are convinced that fostering this creative liberty from the start will inspire innovation and sustain long-term engagement within the community,” he remarked.
inZOI Aims to Be a Deeply Moddable Experience

Modding support has always been a core part of inZOI's design, which made the initial Denuvo integration especially confusing for players—since such software typically obstructs mod and customization creation.
Kjun reinforced the studio's commitment, stating, “As shared during our Online Showcase, we are dedicated to making inZOI a game that welcomes modding. Our first wave of official mod support will debut in May, letting players utilize tools like Maya and Blender to produce custom assets. This is merely the starting point; we intend to broaden mod support into more facets of the game, enabling you to personalize and enrich your play in countless ways.”
He confirmed that a dedicated modding information post will follow. Krafton remains focused on putting players first by incorporating community feedback and making thoughtful changes to deliver a polished, enjoyable experience.
inZOI enters Early Access on March 28, 2025, for PC. The full launch is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, though a specific date has not yet been announced.
